What better blessing can there be than to begin the new Catechetical year celebrating the Eucharist as a Religious Education family?  On Catechetical Sunday, the national day designated for the celebration of the ministry of catechesis, we celebrated our opening Religious Education Mass as we kicked off this new year of growing closer to Christ and coming to know more about our faith.  We thank all of the families who came to celebrate with us. It was a great joy to see all of us from the Religious Education Program come together as a community of faith here at St. Kevin.

Our Confirmation students participated in the various roles of the Mass, and they all did an excellent job.  Our Music Ministry choir is also growing!  We have a number of students who joined this year, and as Fr. Fernandez mentioned, our Eucharistic celebration was graced by the voices of angels, as they led all of us in praising God at our Mass.  We thank all of them and their families, and we look forward to the rest of our Masses this year!

Our catechists were commissioned by Fr. Fernandez in their work of sharing the faith with the children of our parish community.  Please keep all of them in your prayers as they work to fulfill the calling and the mission they have embraced with love and devotion.

As Fr. Fernandez said before the end of the Mass, the parents have an important role and responsibility in raising their children in the faith.  The foundation of your child's faith starts at home.  With the blessing received at the end of the Mass, we pray for all of our children and families, so that they may come not only to know the faith, but to live the faith through their words, their works, and their participation in our parish community, most especially in the Sunday Eucharist.

Let us take the message of the Recessional Hymn to heart: to go out to all the world and tell the Good News of Jesus Christ!  We look forward to a wonderful, blessed, and fruitful catechetical year!
