We are inviting all of our families to participate in two service projects in our program as we help to make this Christmas a special one for the less fortunate children in our community.  We will be participating in the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Toy Drive and the Christmas Drive for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital/NICO at Memorial West.  We will be dividing these two projects by grade level as follows:

GRADES 1 – 5:  Students in these grade levels will be participating in the Christmas Drive for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital/NICO at Memorial West.  We are asking for donations of unwrapped new teddy bears or stuffed toys to be distributed to children with terminal illnesses.  We will also be accepting monetary donations to buy meals for the families spending Christmas Eve in the Intensive Care Units.

GRADES 6 AND UP:  Students in these grade levels will be participating in the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Toy Drive.  We are asking for donations of toys or gifts for children ages 9 – 12.  This past week, students in these grade levels received an “angel” representing a child in need with the age level indicated.  For the gender, we recommend getting a gift for someone of the same gender as your child with the specified age level.  The toy should be unwrapped, and the “angel” should be taped to the toy or gift.

Please bring any donations this coming week (December 12, 13, and 16) when your child comes to class.  Similar to the food drive, we will have a cart at the entrance gate where you can place your donations.  We will be accepting donations up until Saturday, December 16th.
