We hope you and your families had a wonderful Christmas and a blessed start to the new year.

As we begin the second half of our catechetical year, we would like to remind you of a few important things regarding the program:

ATTENDANCE
Please remember that if it is the first or second year of preparation for a sacrament, we allow up to five (5) absences for the year in terms of counting the year towards sacramental preparation.  There are no excused or unexcused absences.  The office may send a courtesy email to the parents to inform them of the number of absences their child has up to that point.

DRESS CODE
All students are expected to dress modestly, in attire appropriate for class and church.   Students may NOT wear “short” shorts or “short” skirts, tank tops, sleeveless shirts/dresses, gym shorts, sweat pants, leggings, flip-flops, crocs, or large/distracting hair pieces (large bows, animal ears, etc.).

BOOKS / SUPPLIES / BAGS
All students need to bring their book(s) to class every week, along with a pencil or pen, and any other supplies requested by their catechist.  Also, only drawstring or canvas bags can be used to carry supplies.

DISMISSAL PROCEDURES -- GRADES 1 to 6
Please remember the dismissal procedures for students in grades 1-6:
  • All parents are to remain in the parking lot during dismissal.
  • There will be a center area marked off by barricades (see figure below).  This will be the ONLY AREA where students will be released.
  • We will announce the grade, catechist name, and room of each class as they come out.  Parents with a child in that class will come to the center area to pick up their child.
  • After picking up their child, parents will clear out the center area, and we will announce the next class.  If a parent needs to wait for another child to be dismissed, they will stand on either side of the barricades in the parking lot and wait for the class to come out.
  • Students not picked up when their class has been announced will be brought back into the school, and the parent will need to wait until all classes have been dismissed.  After all the classes have been released, any remaining students will return to the center area.
  • Should a parent wish to speak with one of the CREs, they must wait in the parking lot until after dismissal is finished.

We thank you for your support and cooperation.  We look forward to a great second half of this Catechetical year!

God bless you.
