This week in class, each candidate received a form in class with information regarding choosing a Confirmation name for the Confirmation Mass.
Choosing a Confirmation name is a customary practice for the candidate preparing for Confirmation.  The candidate chooses a saint whose model, example, or way of life makes an impact on the candidate, and is one that he/she would like to emulate his/her life on.  In other words, the candidate chooses a patron saint for him/herself as he/she continues on their journey of faith.  Although the Confirmation name is stated by the bishop only during the actual Confirmation, the candidate is encouraged to continually pray to the saint they have chosen to guide them throughout their journey of faith.
Please encourage and remind your son/daughter to choose a saint whom they would like to adopt as their patron and guide.
Once a saint is chosen, the candidate needs to fill out the Confirmation Name form given to them this past week.  The form is also available on our website,, on the “CONFIRMATION” tab page.
The Confirmation Name form is due by Tuesday, January 29 (Tuesday class), Wednesday, January 30 (Wednesday classes), and Saturday, February 2 (Saturday class).  Each candidate is to submit the form to his/her Catechist directly in class.
Thank you, and God bless you.
