CONFIRMATION NAME DUE NEXT CLASS

A couple of weeks ago, your child received a form with information regarding choosing a Confirmation name for the Confirmation Mass.

Choosing a Confirmation name is a customary practice for the candidate preparing for Confirmation.  The candidate chooses a saint whose model, example, or way of life makes an impact on the candidate, and is one that he/she would like to emulate his/her life on.  In other words, the candidate chooses a patron saint for him/herself as he/she continues on their journey of faith.  Although the Confirmation name is stated by the bishop only during the actual Confirmation, the candidate is encouraged to continually pray to the saint they have chosen to guide them on their journey of faith.

Even if your candidate will be keeping his/her Baptismal name, he/she still needs to fill out and submit the Confirmation Name Form and reflect on why they would like to keep the saint they were named after as their Confirmation Name.

IF your child has not turned in the Confirmation Name form, it is due by next class:
  • Tuesday, January 30   (Tuesday class),
  • Wednesday, January 31   (Wednesday classes),
  • Saturday, February 3   (Saturday class)

Each candidate must submit it to his/her Catechist in class.  If your candidate needs another copy of the form, it is available on our website,
www.stkevinrep.org, in the “CONFIRMATION” tab page.

Thank you, and God bless you.
