This is to let you know that, as stated on the list of important dates for Confirmation as well as the Confirmation calendar, all candidates MUST ATTEND the Confirmation Retreat taking place next week as part of the preparation for Confirmation.
When:           Saturday, March 7th, 2020
Time:             9:00 am – 7:00 pm
Location:       Parish Hall / Church
This past week, we sent home a letter with your Candidate regarding the guidelines of utmost importance for the retreat.  We have also included them below:
  • Candidates must arrive at the Parish Hall NO LATER than 8:45 am so that the retreat may begin on time as scheduled.  If a candidate is late, their attendance at the retreat may not count.
  • Candidates will receive their group assignments once the retreat begins.  Candidates are expected to remain with their assigned group for the duration of the retreat.
  • Lunch and a light snack will be provided at the retreat.  Breakfast will NOT be provided.
  • Candidates are expected to respect the leaders of the retreat and to engage in proper behavior, such as refraining from individual conversations and other disruptions during retreat activities and talks.
  • The retreat will conclude with the 6:00 pm Vigil Mass in the Church.  Parents and Sponsors are welcome and encouraged to attend this closing Mass of the retreat.
  • Candidates need to come dressed comfortably, but appropriate for church as they will be attending Mass to conclude the retreat.  We recommend that they wear a t-shirt (nothing offensive), jeans (with NO tears, holes, or rips), and sneakers to the retreat.  Candidates may NOT wear crocs, flip flops, tank tops, shorts, short skirts, leggings, or exercise attire.  Any student who comes inappropriately dressed may not be allowed into the retreat.
  • Candidates must stay for the entire retreat, including the 6:00 pm Vigil Mass.  Candidates are NOT allowed to leave until the end of the 6:00 pm Vigil Mass.  If a candidate leaves early or during the Mass, their attendance at the retreat will NOT count.
  • Candidates are NOT ALLOWED to bring or have cell phones or any other electronic devices at the retreat.  If a candidate brings an electronic device, it will be kept in the Religious Education Office, and they will not be able to pick it up until after the Mass.
  • Candidates should not bring any other items (i.e. bags, purses, etc.) to the retreat.  We are not responsible for any items that may go lost or missing at the retreat.
  • Failure to comply with the above guidelines may cause the candidate to be asked to leave, and their attendance at the retreat will NOT count.
Candidates will also have the opportunity to celebrate the
Sacrament of Reconciliation.  They are strongly encouraged to use the “Reconciliation Book” they received in class to help prepare themselves for the sacrament.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you, and God bless you.
