Dear Parents:
We take this opportunity to welcome you to the beginning of the St. Kevin Religious Education Program for the 2019–2020 Catechetical Year!

For the first day of class, we will have our Welcome Orientation for this catechetical year.  At least one of the parents MUST be present with their child(ren) at the Welcome Orientation.  ALL PARENTS AND STUDENTS are to go directly to the Parish Hall by 6:30 pm, where you will receive information regarding what to expect for this year.  You and your child will also have the chance to meet your child’s catechist for this year.  Please remember that attendance at the Welcome Orientation is mandatory for ALL students and parents, and your attendance will count as a class day in terms of your child’s attendance for this year.
Please make sure to read our
Religious Education Handbook on our website at www.stkevinrep.org, under the “GENERAL CLASS INFO” tab.  It contains all the policies that will be followed and enforced, including attendance policy, dress code, and drop-off and dismissal procedures.  Please remember that by signing the “Requirements and Commitment Statement" at the time of registration, you indicate that you have read, accept, and agree to abide by all the guidelines in the Religious Education Handbook.
Also posted on our website and available for you to download is the Confirmation “Welcome Packet” that you received at the time you registered your child in our program.  You can find it on the “
CONFIRMATION” page of our website.
In addition, on the “
CONFIRMATION” page, you can find the “Confirmation Curriculum Outline” for each respective class day available for download.  You and your child will know exactly what will be covered during each class this year, as all of our catechists will be following the outline of lessons posted.  Also, in case your child is ever absent, you can go over the lesson with them at home.  Please keep in mind our attendance policy of no more than 5 absences.
As we emailed last year, please remember that your child needs to bring their “Faith Fusion” textbook and the Bible that they received last year to each class.  They will be used during the first part of the year, and at several other points throughout the year.

Information on the Confirmation Service Hours requirement is also available on the “
CONFIRMATION” page of our website.  Please remember that each candidate needs to complete 10 “direct” hours of community service, directly helping those in need, DUE by February 22nd, 2020.
Please remember to check our website,
www.stkevinrep.org, frequently for any announcements, documents, or new information regarding your child’s Confirmation class.  The website will be our main conduit of communicating information to you, so please be sure to go to our website on a regular basis.  We will also be utilizing MailChimp to send periodic emails, so please be sure to check your emails on a regular basis as well.  Your email address is automatically imported into MailChimp so that you can receive our emails.

We will be having extended registration on Thursday, September 12 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  If you have any friends and/or family who have not registered and want to start or continue their child’s faith formation, please reach out to them and have them come in.  We have all the information on our website under the “REGISTRATION tab.
We and all of our catechists are blessed to be part of this faith community and to be able to serve all of you.  Please feel free to communicate any concerns, issues, and good reports as well to either of us.
Thank you, and please help us pray for a blessed and fruitful Catechetical Year!

God bless you,
