We thank you all of our students and parents for their presence and participation in this week’s Welcome Orientation.  Although we are starting this catechetical year in an unconventional way, we are excited to begin our classes for this year, and we know that they will be wonderful and fruitful for all with the grace of our Lord and the support and cooperation of all of our families.

As mentioned in the meeting, we sent via email the link to the recording of the Welcome Orientation so that you can readily access and review the topics and information presented and discussed.

Your child’s catechist will be emailing you the information and the link to connect to their online class.  Please make sure to follow the instructions that they send in order to successfully join the class.  We strongly recommend that you check the device your child will be using by following the instructions and testing the link you receive prior to the class to ensure that they will be able to access and connect to the online platform.

Please be sure to read our
Religious Education Handbook on our website at www.stkevinrep.org, under the “GENERAL CLASS INFO” tab.  It contains all the policies that will be followed and implemented, including attendance policy, dress code, and the “ABC’s of Online Class Etiquette”.  Please remember that by signing the “Requirements and Commitment Statement” at the time of registration, you indicate that you have read, accept, and agree to abide by all the guidelines in the Religious Education Handbook.

Also posted on our website and available for you to download is the Confirmation “Welcome Packet” that you received at registration.  You can find it on the “CONFIRMATION” page of our website.

In addition, on the “
CONFIRMATION” page, you can find the “Confirmation Curriculum Outline” for each respective class day available for download.  You and your child will know exactly what will be covered during each class this year, as all of our catechists will be following the outline of lessons posted.  Also, in case your child is ever absent, you may go over the lesson with them at home.  Please keep in mind our attendance policy of no more than 5 absences.

As mentioned last year, please remember that your child needs to have their “Faith Fusion” textbook and the Bible that they received last year for each class.  They will be needed during the first few classes and at several points throughout the year.

Information on the Confirmation Service Hours requirement is also available on the “CONFIRMATION” page of our website.  Please remember that, given the coronavirus pandemic, we know that community service is difficult at this time.  The process and procedures regarding the community service requirement will be subject to change and adjustment as things unfold.

Please remember to check our website,
www.stkevinrep.org, frequently for any announcements, documents, and new information regarding your child’s Religious Education class.  The website will be our primary method of communicating information to you, so please be sure to visit our website on a regular basis.  We will also be utilizing MailChimp to send periodic emails to all the families, so please be sure to check your emails on a regular basis as well.  Your email address is automatically imported into MailChimp so that you can receive our emails.

We have extended our registration for this year’s classes until Thursday, September 17.  If you have any friends and/or family who have not registered and want to start or continue their child’s religious education, please reach out to them and invite them to come in.  We have all the information on our website under the “
REGISTRATION” tab.

We and all of our catechists are blessed to be a part of this St. Kevin community and to be able to serve all of you.  Please feel free to communicate any concerns, issues, and good reports as well to either of us.

Thank you, and please help us pray for a blessed and fruitful Catechetical Year!

God bless you.
