FIRST COMMUNION

First Communion is the celebration of receiving the sacrament of the Eucharist, the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.  In the Religious Education Program, children are prepared to receive this most precious gift for the rest of their lives, as they continue to grow in the love and grace of Christ.

Below, you will find all the important documents, guidelines, meetings, important dates, and any other information pertaining to the celebration of your child's First Communion.  **(NOTE: The information below is ONLY for those celebrating First Communion in 2019.)

  FIRST COMMUNION - THINGS TO LEARN
Throughout the year, students in the First Communion classes will be asked to learn specific prayers and concepts as part of their preparation for First Communion.  Students will be evaluated on these prayers and concepts to ensure that they have learned them.

"The Eucharist is 'the source and summit of the Christian life.'  The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch."
