As we informed all our First Communion classes this week, we will be doing the evaluations next class for the material in the “Things to Learn – Part III” handout given to your child and emailed to you at the beginning of January. The handout contains the Rite of Reconciliation, which your child will be celebrating before receiving his/her First Communion, along with the Act of Contrition. The material was also reviewed in class this week in preparation for next week's evaluation.
We will be seeing whether or not each
student has learned the steps in going to Confession (Reconciliation).
We will be asking them to go through the words and actions of the Rite
of Reconciliation with us as if they were doing their First
Reconciliation. The evaluation will basically be a practice of what
they need to do. This is to ensure that they will know what to say and
do when they celebrate their First Reconciliation with one of our parish
priests.
As previously stated, we are asking for your help by going over the Rite
together with your child. We also suggest practicing the steps of
Reconciliation together with your child at home. This is the best way
for them to learn the Rite of Reconciliation!
In addition, we will be doing a second evaluation on the “Act of Contrition.”
The Act of Contrition is prayed during Reconciliation and, therefore,
each child must know this prayer. Please make sure to review (and pray)
the Act of Contrition with your child.
Thank you, and God bless you. |
